Osho Books

The controversial spiritual leader, Osho, authored more than 600 books in his life time. 5 of the most popular Osho books are listed below.

Osho has been described by the Sunday Times in London as one of the "1000 Makers of the 20th Century" and as "the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ" by American author Tom Robbins.

His work encompasses both the timeless and mystic wisdom of the East with Western science and technology.

1.    EMOTIONS: Freedom from Anger, Jealousy & Fear

Not understanding our emotions and how to deal with them effectively lies at the core of many of our life’s difficulties and usually affect not only us but the people around us as well. Not dealing with strong emotions can negatively impact our physical and sexual health, productivity, energy, sleep and relationships with our loved ones.

In EMOTIONS: Freedom from Anger, Osho gives us a comprehensive and practical guide in dealing with our emotions effectively by watching and learning from them when they arise. By mastering our emotions they no longer have the power to provoke us.

2.    Love, Freedom, Aloneness: The Koan of Relationships

If you are looking for something different than the same old worn out platitudes on relationships then, Love, Freedom, Aloneness: The Koan of Relationship, might just be the book you want.

Published after his death, the book is a compendium of transcripts from Osho’s lectures and subsequent question and answer periods. The casual and conversational tone of the book makes for easy reading.

By learning to live by ourselves and with ourselves first, we cultivate real freedom in our lives; and this freedom allows us to find love and happiness with someone else.

The book is not a 12 step formula but a free flowing dialogue on how to balance lifestyle, love and meditation.

3. The Book of Secrets: 112 Meditations to Discover the Mystery Within
Osho believed, "Without meditation you do not know the secrets of life, you know only the surface of life."  Of all of the more than 600 Osho books, The Book of Secrets is one of the longest. With over 1,100 pages it is a comprehensive and practical guide to learning meditation.

The 112 meditation techniques are based on ancient texts translated to contemporary understanding. Each of the 112 techniques is described in detail and explained how best to integrate them into our everyday lives.

Published after his death, the book is a compendium of transcripts from Osho’s lectures and subsequent question and answer periods. The casual and conversational tone of the book makes for easy reading.

You need not have any specific religious beliefs, nor go to any temple to benefit from this or any Osho books; your body and mind are temple enough. You need only the willingness and courage to experiment with everyday life by becoming aware of your being to derive great benefit from this book.

4. Being in Love: How to Love with Awareness and Relate Without Fear

In this thoughtful, provocative work, Osho--one of the most revolutionary thinkers of our time--challenges us to question what we think we know about love and opens us to the possibility of a love that is natural, fulfilling, and free of possessiveness and jealousy.

With his characteristic wit, humor, and understanding, Osho dares us to resist the unhealthy relationship patterns we’ve learned from those around us, and to rediscover the meaning of love for ourselves. "By the time you are ready to explore the world of love, you are filled with so much rubbish about love that there is not much hope for you to be able to find the authentic and discard the false."

By answering the questions that so many lovers face, Osho shares new ways to love that will forever change how you relate to others, including how to:

•    Love without clinging
•    Let go of expectations, rules, and demands
•    Free yourself from the fear of being alone
•    Be fully present in your relationships
•    Keep your love fresh and alive
•    Become a life partner with whom someone could continue to grow and change
•    Surrender your ego so you can surrender to love
Being in Love will inspire you to welcome love into your life anew and experience the joy of being truly alive by sharing it.

5. Tantra: The Supreme Understanding

Of all of the Osho books, Tantra is his all time best seller. In it he discusses Tantric meditation techniques and the mystical insights found in the ancient texts and discusses their relevancy to today’s modern seeker.

For the past 10 centuries the writings of Tilopa, the 11th century Indian master, have lived on. He passed his mystical insights into the Tantra to his disciple, Naropa, in the form of his Song of Mahamudra.

Osho beautifully and powerfully teaches Tantra through Tilopa’s song, piece by piece, showing how it applies to our lives today. And as always, Osho does it with his unique blend of wisdom and sense of humor.

These 5 Osho books go far beyond the understanding of conventional psychology and bring unique insight to the workings of the mind, heart and essence of being.
